Shepherds Pie
Without a sheep in sight, here is my version of the famous dish
Method
- In a heavy based saute pan cook mince until nice and brown. Remove and store
- Add some Olive oil if necessary and cook garlic for a minute. Do not burn as it will not taste nice
- Add the onions to the pan and cook until transparent
- Add mince back to pan
- Add the baked beans, mixed or fresh vegetables, oxo cubes
- Stir and add the bisto with a little water to make a nice thick gravy (not too thick though)
- Pour into a casserole dish
- Top with the mashed potatoes and a knob of butter, cook in a moderate oven until the potatoes are brown or just brown under the grill
